At nearby Flixton, is an Aviation Museum dedicated to the Bungay Buckaroo's, who were stationed at Flixton during WWII. There are masses of exhibits and entrance is free!

The coast is approximately 20 minutes by car away. Southwold (the nearest beach) is an unspoilt Victorian coastal resort with a stylish pier that has recently been rebuilt. The rows of beach huts on the promenade are very popular and can be rented from Durrants Estate Agents - Tel: 01502 723292.

Nearby Walberswick offers good crabbing fun for children in the creeks (a piece of string and a bit of bacon is all that is required!) and there is an RSPB reserve at Minsmere. Aldeburgh and Thorpeness are also quiet relaxed seaside retreats, whilst Lowestoft and Gt. Yarmouth offer more commercialised entertainment. Lowestoft has a large theme park called Pleasurewood hills (30 mins drive) whilst Yarmouth has a large funfair, Hippodrome Circus (which is well worth seeing) seaside shows on the piers, crazy golf and masses of slot machines! It also has several museums, including the new award winning 'Time and Tide museum' which charts Yarmouths history through several 'hands on' exhibits. A good place to visit on a rainy day.
North Norfolk - an hour away by car - with it's open skys, beautiful sandy beaches and quaint quays, has the delights of Cromer, Sheringham, Wells-on-Sea and Blakeney Point. Burnham Market, Holkham, Royal Sandringham and Hunstanton are a little further afield, but worth visiting whilst up there!
