About Us

Welcome to Grove Farm Cottage

Tea in the garden at Grove Farm Cottage

A warm welcome with fresh flowers and homemade cake and tea on your arrival.

Our cottage lies on the outskirts of the small village of Ilketshall St Margaret, near Bungay set in the beautiful Waveney Valley.

The cottage has been well equipped and fitted to a high standard, with good quality furnishings throughout.  The sitting room is very cosy and just the place to curl up on a cold winters day with a good book!  Games, Dvd's, video's books/magazines and tourist information/maps are all provided to make your stay complete.  The kitchen is newly fitted in farmhouse style, with good quality appliances and utensils.  Teatowels are provided.   The double bedroom has an ensuite bathroom/wc, whilst the twin room has an ensuite shower room/wc.  All linen and bedding is included, together with bath and hand towels.  Electricity and full oil central heating is also included in your rental.

A barbecue and garden furniture on the patio are available for your enjoyment during the warm summer months and there is ample parking for cars.

Whilst staying at the cottage, watch out for the local wildlife.  We have a pair of resident barn owls who love to fly along the ditch lines beside the cottage in the evening, looking for their supper.  You may also see the hares dancing in the nearby fields and the deer in the nearby 'Spring wood'.

Originally a pair of farmworkers cottages, built during the Victorian period, the holiday cottage was sympathetically renovated during 2003 after standing empty for many years.  The other cottage is empty at the moment, but is in the process of being renovated.

The farm is a working arable farm, growing wheat, barley and oilseed rape and the farmhouse is situated 1/2 mile further down the quiet lane from the cottages.

Being right on the border of Suffolk and Norfolk, the cottage offers easy touring for both counties, plus the nearby Norfolk Broads and beautiful East Anglian coastline.  There are several historic market towns nearby, with delightful antique and craft shops to visit.  Situated two miles away from the cottage is Bungay's indoor swimming pool with waterslide.  Two miles in the other direction is the historic medieval moated St Peter's Hall,  with restaurant, bar, shop and brewery.

What more could you wish for!
